Job description

Position Highlights
  • Department: Physical Rehabilitation - Outpatient
  • Hours: Part Time/24 hours per week. This position is benefits eligible.
  • Shift: Days, 1st Shift
  • Location: This position will split between both Middletown, CT and Marlborough, CT locations

Position Summary:
The Patient Services Representative is responsible for but not limited to:
  • Greets patients and staff with a friendly, positive demeanor both in person and over the phone. Answers all questions or assists with finding answers for patients and staff.
  • Effectively schedules patients for initial and follows up visits based on department guidelines.
  • Obtains accurate demographic, registration and insurance information and performs data entry into the computer system
  • Initiates correct forms for each chart, pulls, files, and scans charts accurately and with conscious regard for HIPAA Rules.
  • Answers incoming telephone calls by third ring, offers assistance to callers and properly routes calls to others. Takes messages, referrals and other information as appropriate.
  • Works effectively with other rehab front office staff.
  • Works with Registration to correct account errors and registration problems. Efficiently addresses daily worklists. Enter insurance data, ICD.10 codes and onset dates into the system.
  • Actively participates in the Quality Improvement program.
  • Maintains clean and organized work areas.
  • Other job related duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma required

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Knowledge of electronic medical record systems
  • Experience working in healthcare
  • Experience working as a secretary or in a customer service field
  • Experience with medical terminology
  • Computer proficient
