We are seeking an Associate Medical Writer (Contract-to-Hire) to develop high-quality scientific and clinical content for a variety of audiences, including healthcare professionals, patients, and internal stakeholders. This role emphasizes hands-on medical writing, editorial excellence, scientific accuracy, and cross-functional collaboration within a fast-paced medical communications environment. The Associate Medical Writer is also responsible for ensuring all deliverables are fully referenced, accurately annotated, and submission-ready to support efficient internal, client, and Medical/Legal/Regulatory (MLR) review processes.


The corporate office is located in Voorhees, New Jersey, just outside of Philadelphia. The part-time role (around 20 hours per week) can be 100% remote, or partial in office, if desired.

Requirements:


Medical Writing & Content Development

  • Develop scientific and clinical materials including slide decks, publications, abstracts, posters, training resources, educational materials, and other client deliverables.
  • Translate complex scientific information into accurate, audience-appropriate content aligned with client objectives and regulatory requirements.
  • Ensure all materials are scientifically accurate, compliant, and delivered on time.

Referencing & Documentation

  • Research, verify, and incorporate scientific references to support content.
  • Prepare accurate reference lists and annotated deliverables in accordance with AMA style and client requirements. Organize supporting documentation to ensure submission-ready materials for internal and client review.

Editorial Quality & Collaboration

  • Collaborate with editorial, medical, account, and project management teams to produce high-quality deliverables.
  • Incorporate reviewer feedback while maintaining scientific accuracy and strategic messaging.
  • Contribute to internal templates, style guides, and process improvements.

Professional Development & Communication

  • Maintain knowledge of therapeutic areas and medical communications best practices.
  • Participate in client meetings and collaborate effectively with internal teams and external stakeholders.
  • Support team initiatives and perform other duties as assigned.

  • Strong scientific writing, editing, proofreading, and fact-checking skills with exceptional attention to detail.
