Trinity Health Of New England is looking for a Certified Nursing Assistant II to join our team of mission-driven healthcare caretakers. Our vision is to provide state-of-the-art healthcare to those within our local communities, creating a positive impact for each individual that walks through our doors. This person is responsible for assisting while providing exceptional care to patients with a variety of medical conditions.

Under the direct supervision of the Registered Nurse, the Nursing Assistant II collects and reports patient information and data as directed; helps assigned patients with all activities of daily living, including personal hygiene, diet and fluid intake, elimination, skin care, bathing and dressing, positioning, transfers, mobility, and ambulation and may also perform selected tasks, such as patient transport, collection of specimens, distribution of linens and supplies to patient rooms, and delivery of ice and beverages to patients as directed.

The Nursing Assistant II provides care according to hospital procedures in a manner that protects the safety and dignity of patients.

What you will do

  • Collect and report patient information and data

  • Help patients with activities of daily living, including personal hygiene, diet, fluid intake, skin care, bathing and dressing, positioning, transfers, mobility and ambulation

  • Patient Transport

  • Collection of specimens

  • Distribution of linens and supplies to patient rooms

  • Deliver ice and beverages to patients

  • As assigned, stays with at-risk patients to monitor patient safety

Minimum Qualifications

  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent. Graduate of a Connecticut approved Nurse Aide Training Program preferred or in process of earning a BA in Nursing OR Health Sciences with at least one clinical completed OR significant previous healthcare related experience.

  • Proof with college transcript required OR have significant nurse assistant/healthcare related experience is required.

  • Certification:Current Connecticut Nurse Aide Registry certification required.BLS certification required.

  • Ability to pass drug screening and background check

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience: 5 years of previous experience as a Nursing Assistant in an acute care setting preferred. Ability to read, write and speak English and do simple math problems. Experience using a computer highly desirable
