Job Summary

We are seeking passionate, knowledgeable, and reliable senior science tutors to join our Richmond team. You will work one-on-one with students to support their academic success in subjects such as general science, biology, chemistry, physics, algebra, geometry, pre-calculus, calculus, and other STEM-related areas. Tutors will tailor instruction to individual learning styles to help students build confidence and mastery.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide academic support in science and/or math aligned with Virginia's curriculum standards.
  • Design and deliver customized tutoring sessions in STEM subjects.
  • Offer remedial or enrichment instruction based on each student's needs.
  • Assign supplemental materials to enhance understanding and retention.
  • Maintain open communication with parents/guardians to report on student progress and goals.
Qualifications & Skills

We are looking for certified educators, STEM subject matter experts (e.g., engineers, graduate students in scientific or mathematical fields), and soon-to-be teachers who meet the following criteria:

  • Energetic and enthusiastic about helping students learn and grow.
  • Strong knowledge of math and/or science content.
  • Committed to providing exceptional, personalized instruction and customer service.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to adapt to a wide range of learning styles and student needs.
  • Professional, punctual, and organized.
Requirements

All applicants must hold a Bachelor's degree and meet at least one of the following:

  • Hold a valid Virginia State teaching certificate (or equivalent from another state).
  • Currently enrolled in a teacher certification program.
  • Have 2+ years of experience teaching in a private, public, or charter school.
  • Have experience as a lecturer or course instructor at an accredited U.S. college or university.
  • Are a Master's or PhD student with experience as a teaching assistant at a U.S. university or college.
