About the Positionย ย 

The Receptionist position is primarily responsible for providing a variety of receptionist activities in serving residents, visitors, and team members. The receptionist is expected to take an active and decisive role to ensure that sign in procedures are followed, camera views are properly monitored, lock outs and keyless lock system alarms are handled immediately, and that people attempting to enter the building at entry points equipped with cameras and buzzers are properly identified before entry is allowed. Additional duties include routing calls and use of computer programs for billing and scheduling, and collecting resident payments; receive packages, and other deliveries.

The pay rate for this position isย $20.00/hr

Job Duties

  • Operates telephone console by routing, recording and delivering messages, and providing coverage to other departments as requested.ย 

    • Reports emergency calls immediately and forwards maintenance calls to appropriate individual in a timely manner.
  • Runs daily report of resident motion sensor check in and monitors/reports Palcare alarms to appropriate nursing stations.

  • Assists with and/or is responsible for entering information for incident reports, and other records and reports.

  • Prints room bookings schedule via Worxhub activity schedule daily.

  • Inputs transportation requests into Worxhub for the Transportation department to schedule and coordinate.Assists residents and visitors with requests for cab service, van service, and other requests in a polite and proficient manner.

  • Oversees and distributes facility, apartment and mailbox keys ensuring security guidelines are maintained.

  • Distributes bills to residents in a timely manner and accepts payments for further processing. Collects payments for guestrooms, guest and contractor meals; sells and distributes meal tickets; sells stamps, and cashes checks for residents as requested. Posts charges for residentsโ€™ guest meals, lodging, transportation and telephone charges, and sends weekly reports to Accounting.

  • Accepts medication from the pharmacy and dispenses to residents and employees according to specific guidelines and advises pharmacy technician of medication to be delivered on the nursing floors.

  • Receives and directs facility and residentsโ€™ guests, notifying residents, signing in visitors, and offering directions, ensuring security guidelines are maintained. Monitors residentsโ€™ presence/absence from the facility through check-in and check-out procedures. Responsible for giving residents absence slips and submitting credit slips to Accounting.

  • Conducts fire emergency procedures and drills by monitoring systems and notifying appropriate individuals immediately.

Qualifications

  • High school graduate or equivalent required.

  • Minimum of two years experience in public relations, customer service, or related area required.

  • Excellent verbal communication skills required. Must be able to speak English fluently.

  • Must have computer skills in basic word processing.

  • Must possess the ability to deal tactfully with others.
