Job description

Part-Time Registered Nurse (RN) – ID/DD Group Home

Day Shift | 7:00 AM–7:00 PM

Riverside Care of Florida, LLC is seeking dependable and compassionate Registered Nurses (RNs) to join our nursing team serving pediatric and young adult residents with intellectual and developmental disabilities (ID/DD) in a residential group home setting.

This is a part-time position requiring a minimum commitment of one 12-hour shift per week. This opportunity is well suited for an RN seeking consistent part-time nursing hours while maintaining flexibility during the remainder of the week. Work as part of a team with daily CNA/HHA/DSP assistance. Opportunities to pick up additional shifts may be available.

Schedule
  • Day shift: 7:00 AM–7:00 PM

  • Minimum commitment of one 12-hour shift per week

  • Variable scheduling based on staff availability and facility needs

  • Rotating weekend requirement, approximately one weekend shift per month

  • Opportunities to pick up additional shifts when available

Position Responsibilities

The RN provides nursing care, clinical oversight, and care coordination for pediatric and young adult residents with developmental and medical needs in a group home setting.

Responsibilities include:

  • Administer medications and treatments according to physician orders and each resident's plan of care

  • Complete required nursing documentation accurately and timely

  • Monitor residents for changes in condition and communicate concerns appropriately

  • Provide and oversee care related to residents' individual health and medical needs

  • Participate in case conferences and plan-of-care review/update meetings when scheduled

  • Participate in the review and updating of resident plans of care based on current needs, physician orders, and interdisciplinary recommendations

  • Receive, document, and process verbal physician orders in accordance with applicable nursing standards and agency policy

  • Communicate with physicians, pharmacies, caregivers, supervisors, and other members of the interdisciplinary care team as needed

  • Coordinate with the pharmacy regarding medication orders, refills, clarifications, medication changes, and other resident medication needs

  • Delegate tasks appropriately to assigned CNA/HHA/DSPs

  • Follow up on identified documentation or care-related concerns as appropriate

  • Provide guidance and support to direct-care staff regarding resident care needs

  • Respond appropriately to changes in resident condition and emergencies

  • Complete shift-to-shift communication and ensure important resident information is communicated to incoming staff

  • Assist in maintaining a safe, clean, supportive, and resident-centered environment

  • Follow agency policies, physician orders, resident plans of care, medication procedures, and applicable regulatory requirements

Qualifications
  • Current and unrestricted Florida Registered Nurse (RN) license

  • Current CPR certification

  • Ability to work independently and exercise sound nursing judgment

  • Strong nursing assessment, documentation, communication, and organizational skills

  • Ability to communicate effectively with physicians, pharmacies, caregivers, and interdisciplinary team members

  • Ability to participate in case conferences, care-plan reviews, and assigned chart audits

  • Dependable attendance and ability to fulfill scheduled shift commitments

  • Comfortable working with pediatric and young adult residents with intellectual and developmental disabilities

  • Must successfully complete all required background screening and pre-employment requirements

A minimum of two years of RN experience in a similar setting is preferred but not required.
