Location: Riverview Regional Medical Centerย - Gadsden, ALย 

We are seeking aย RN House Supervisor,ย sometimes referred to as a Hospital House Supervisorย or Clinical House Supervisor.ย The RN House Supervisorย willย ensureย smooth, safe, and efficient clinical operations across the entire hospital. Theย RN Supervisorย is the administrative representative of hospital leadership when management is off-site.ย The RN House Supervisorย willย ensure that staffing, patient care, crisis response, and interdepartmental coordination are handled without interruption.ย ย 

**If youย have experienceย inย theย Intensive Care Unit (ICU),ย Emergency Room (ER), Emergency Department (ED), Charge Nurse or Leadership experience in aย hospitalย (Acute Care)ย setting youย are encouraged toย apply!ย 

Responsibilities

Essential Duties and Responsibilities (includes, but not limited to):ย 

  • May directly intervene in emergency situations, including patient codes, Rapid Response activations, or behavioral escalationsย 
  • Monitors patient flow:ย supervise bed availability and coordinates admissions, discharges, and inter-unit transfersย 
  • Work closely with the emergency department (ED), intensive care units (ICU), med-surg floors, and ancillary departments (lab, imaging, pharmacy) to avoid bottlenecksย 
  • Manage staffing by evaluating unit needs based on census, patient acuity, and absences; reallocates existing staff and coordinates float pool, per diem, or agency supportย ย 
  • Prepare comprehensive shift reports and documents critical incidents-including patient complaints, staff conflicts, injuries, and safety concernsย 
  • Oversee hospital operations during assigned shifts, ensuring quality care, efficient patient flow, and staff coordination in the absence of administrative leadershipย 
  • Supports staff,ย assistย with urgent procedures and staffing, ensureย RNย staff orientation, and promote a positive patient experienceย 
Qualifications

  • Current and valid license as a Registered Nurse.
  • Current BLS certificate upon hire and maintain current.
  • ACLS certificate 30 days upon hire and maintain current.
  • Minimum of three (3) years acute care nursing experience

  • One (1) year prior experience as a Supervisor preferred
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
