Overview

Responsibilities

Receives verbal/written assignments from RN/LPN; assists patients with Activities of Daily Living; reports any changes in patient condition to RN/LPN; maintains clean and neat stocked areas and patient rooms; cleans equipment between each patient use; operates unit equipment as required; runs unit errands as needed; assists with and accompanies patients on admission, discharge, and transfer; answers patient call lights promptly; keeps hallway clear of equipment; distributes water and ice; maintains 24-hour urine collections; performs catheter checks and blood glucose monitoring; takes and records vital signs and weight; records accurate intake and output (to include NG, chest tube, ostomy bags, foley, etc.); signs/initials documentation; documents patient turns and repositioning; reports any skin condition to RN; assists with completion of daily flow sheet; responds to overhead pages; participates in orientation of new employees as assigned; adheres to current Infection Control and Safety Standards; accesses and accurately maintains electronic and paper medical records; regular and prompt attendance; ability to work schedule as defined and overtime as required; related duties as required.

Employees must be in a regular position, working 20 hours or more per week (.50 FTE or greater) to qualify for benefits.
