Job Summary and Responsibilities

  • Observes, collects, and records patient biophysical, psychosocial, environmental, and self-care data.
  • Analyzes assessment data to formulate nursing diagnoses and implement age-appropriate care plans.
  • Documents patient data to measure progress, identifying and meeting learning needs for patients and/or significant others.
  • Administers medication and follows precautions to ensure patient safety, including fall prevention.
  • Coordinates care with other disciplines, shares knowledge, floats as needed, and attends required educational programs.
