Puget Sound Home Health & Hospice is expanding, and we are seeking an experienced Part-time On-call After Hours Hospice RN to provide high‑quality after‑hours hospice nursing care across King and Pierce counties.

Position: On-call, After‑Hours Hospice Registered Nurse (RN)
Flexible Schedule: Monday 5:00 PM – Thursday 8:00 AM - OR - Saturday and Sunday 5 PM to 8 AM both nights
Territory: Thurston, Grays Harbor, and Mason County, Washington
Compensation: $200-300 per night, DOE and $65-80 per visit, DOE

Key Responsibilities

This after‑hours on-call hospice RN role provides autonomous, high‑impact clinical care to patients and families facing advanced illness.

  • Deliver after‑hours hospice nursing visits, urgent care interventions, and skilled assessments
  • Manage triage calls, determine needed interventions, and complete in‑person visits as required
  • Provide pain and symptom management in accordance with hospice standards of care
  • Educate patients and families on hospice philosophy, medications, and care expectations
  • Document all assessments and interventions accurately and efficiently
  • Communicate promptly with the interdisciplinary hospice team (IDT) to ensure continuity of care
  • Participate in QAPI and quality improvement initiatives as needed

Qualifications

  • Current Washington State Registered Nurse (RN) license
  • Hospice agency experience required
  • Current AHA BLS certification
  • Strong clinical assessment and independent decision‑making skills
  • Ability to work autonomously during evening, night, and early‑morning hours
  • Reliable, insured vehicle and valid driver’s license
