Registered Nurse – Home Care/Hospice-Weekend Evenings & On Call

Are you looking to earn a great income while having daytime flexibility? The Holyoke Visiting Nurse Association & Hospice Life Care is looking to hire a part-time Registered Nurse for this unique role!  As a successful and growing agency, Holyoke VNA & Hospice Life Care is looking for an experienced person. Compassionate and detail-orientated Registered Nurse who wants to service our community in a part-time and on-call capacity.

The Weekend Evening /On Call Registered Nurse shift will include Saturday & Sundays, from 4:00pm through 12:00am, with on-call responsibilities from 12:00am – 8:00am.  Responsibilities may include the following:

  • Admissions, symptom management visits and/or pronouncement visits.
  • Instruct patients and caregivers in symptom management and end of life care.
  • Communicates with MD to facilitate recommendations for symptoms and pain management.
  • Evaluate outcomes of nursing intervention and initiate changes when appropriate
  • Collaborate, communicate and cooperate as appropriate with other health care providers to ensure quality and continuity of care.
  • Complete, maintain and submit accurate and timely documentation and relevant clinical notes regarding the client’s condition and care and treatment provided.

Requirements:

  • Associates Degree (Nursing) required, BSN preferred
  • Nursing experience one (1) to three (3) years is required, preferably in a home care environment.
  • Hospice with recent end-of-life care experience one (1) to three (3) years required.
