Job description

Navy-Marine Corps Relief Society (NMCRS) is seeking a part-time (20 hrs/wk) Visiting Nurse at our office in Groton, CT. No weekends, holiday, and shifts; no insurance reports to file. Just nursing the way it should be…one-to-one with patients – teaching health info/providing resource information and support to Navy and Marine Corps families and retirees throughout the lifespan to include maternal child through geriatric patients. Minimum Requirements: Current and active RN license from Connecticut, current BLS, valid driver’s license, current automobile insurance, good driving record and reliable transportation. Experience in maternal/newborn desired; also prefer some med/surg. background; must be willing and able to do computerized documentation; teaching health information and providing resource information to Navy and Marine Corps families; able to perform nursing assessments and communicate effectively with patients/family members in a home setting; working knowledge of military life is desirable. Applicant must have worked as an RN within the last 12 months and be a U.S. citizen. Preference in selecting candidates will be given to those with previous experience as a Volunteer or as an employee with NMCRS.
