Registered Nurse (RN-CN1), Endoscopy, First Shift, ONA
UC Health is hiring a Part-Time Registered Nurse (RN-CN1) for the Endoscopy Department for the first shift at UC Medical Center.
The Clinical Nurse I (CN I -registered nurse) promotes and restores patients' health by completing the nursing process; collaborating with physicians and multidisciplinary team members; providing physical and psychological support to patients, friends, and families. The RN utilizes knowledge derived from the principles of biological, physical, behavioral, social, and nursing sciences to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate culturally based and age specific patient care.
The RN incorporates the principles of the ANCC Synergy Model for patient care to drive nursing practice, resulting in optimum outcomes for the patient.
Responsibilities
The Registered Nurse (RN) is an individual who holds a current state license to practice nursing. The practice of nursing requires specialized knowledge, judgment, and skills to provide care to groups and individuals. The RN utilizes knowledge derived from the principles of biological, physical, behavioral, social and nursing sciences to assess, plan, implement and evaluate patient care. The care is culturally based and age-specific.
  • Prepares, implements, evaluates, revises and coordinates interdisciplinary plan of care for each assigned patient in a collaborative effort with the other healthcare team members and patient/family within the time frame indicated by unit's standards of practice.
  • Communicates formulated plan of care, as appropriate, to all levels of associates involved in the patient's care, and demonstrates ability to establish priorities of care based on patient's assessment and needs.
  • Gives clear instructions to patients/family regarding treatment, and involves family/guardian in the assessment, initial treatment, and continuing care of the patient.
  • Identifies and responds appropriately to different patient needs resulting from behavioral health problems, unique psychological needs or those associated with religious/cultural norms.
  • Demonstrates critical thinking, accountability, flexibility, and a cooperative attitude in meeting the needs of the unit.
  • Nursing process is accurately and concisely documented, including evaluation of treatment and in accordance to hospital policy and procedure.
  • Acts as a resource person and mentor for new personnel, floater, and/or supplemental staff working on the unit.
  • Assumes responsibility for personal professional development and contributes to the professional development of peers, colleagues, and others.

Qualifications
  • Graduate from an accredited school of nursing
  • Associate degree, minimum required; Bachelor of Science in Nursing preferred
  • Current OH RN License
  • BLS, minimum required
  • ACLS, preferred
  • 1 year RN experience, minimum required
  • 1 year Endoscopy, ICU, or PACU experience, preferred
