About Us
Albany State University is a fully accredited senior unit of the University System of Georgia. Location
Our West Campus is located at 2400 Gillionville Road, Albany, GA 31707. Our East Campus is located at 504 College Drive, Albany, GA 31705. The Human Resources office for both campuses is located on the West Campus in Building K, Suite 111.
Job Summary
The Part-time Retail Associate provides customer service and operational support for the University Spirit Store. This position assists with sales transactions, merchandising, and inventory tasks and supports the store manager in the day-to-day operation of the store.
Sponsorship is not available for this position.
Responsibilities
  • Greet and assist customers, providing excellent customer service on the sales floor.
  • Operate the register, process purchases, returns, and exchanges.
  • Assist with receiving shipments, restocking, and maintaining merchandise displays.
  • Support online order processing and in-store pickups.
  • Serve as a resource for student workers, helping with training and guidance.
  • Provide store coverage in the absence of the Manager, including opening/closing, deposits, and cash handling procedures.
  • Assist with special events, pop-up shops, and game-day sales.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the sales floor and stockroom.
  • Monitor inventory levels and notify management when stock is low or needs replenishing.
  • Follow all safety and security procedures to maintain a safe and secure store environment.
  • Work cooperatively with other staff members to ensure smooth operations and high customer satisfaction.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent required
1 year of retail or customer service experience.
Basic math skills and the ability to operate a POS system.
Must be flexible and willing to work evenings, weekends, and peak sales periods, such as back-to-school or pop-up special events, i.e., Homecoming, Open House, New Student Orientations.
Preferred Qualifications
Associates Degree
2 years of retail customer service experience.
Proposed Salary
The pay will be $17 per hour for 19 hours or less per week.
