Job description

Position: Remediation Support Professional (Part-Time)
Reports to: Principal
Work Site: The Main Street Academy; College Park, GA
Job Summary:
The Main Street Academy (TMSA) is actively seeking a stellar, data-driven, growth-minded professional to serve as a .5 FTE Remediation & Intervention Teacher focused on accelerating student achievement in both Reading and Math. The ideal candidate is passionate about closing learning gaps, MTSS, RTI, building student confidence, analyzing student academic achievement data, and using targeted instructional strategies to ensure measurable academic growth.
Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree from a regionally accredited university (Conferred)

Certification/Licensure
  • Must hold or be eligible to hold a Georgia certificate in the applicable field

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Deliver targeted intervention instruction in Reading and Math for identified students
  • Use assessment data to drive instructional planning and monitor student growth
  • Develop and implement individualized learning strategies and intervention plans
  • Collaborate with classroom teachers to align remediation efforts with grade-level standards
  • Maintain accurate student progress records and communicate updates with families and staff
  • Foster a positive, engaging, and supportive learning environment
  • Utilize research-based instructional practices and differentiated learning techniques
  • Participate in MTSS/RTI meetings and contribute to student success planning
  • Support TMSA goals, initiatives, programs, and processes
  • Implement individual teaching, small group, or co-teaching model
  • Attend professional learning communities as deemed necessary
  • Other duties as deemed necessary by the Principal, Assistant Principals, or MTSS Coordinator

Skills and Knowledge:
  • Experienced in collaborating with teacher teams and adapting work to the needs of colleagues and students
  • Demonstrate excellent oral and written communication skills with the ability to utilize technology for communication and instruction
  • Demonstrate organizational skills and initiative for working with minimal direct supervision
  • Knowledge and experience using technology for communication, data analysis, gathering and organizing information for presentations
  • Working knowledge of current research and resources in content areas
  • Maintain confidentiality and adhere to Family Education Rights and Privacy (FERPA) requirements.
