SUMMARY: Currentlysearching fortwo(2)Part-time Research Assistants toworkintheChemistry & Biochemistry Department, College of Science, under thesupervisionofDr.S. Chantal E.Stieber, Principal Investigator.

SOME OF THE THINGS THAT YOU WILL GET TO DO (this is just a small sampling of work variety):

The research assistants will performscientificexperiments to study C-F activationwithfirstrowtransition metalsand/ormake tutorial videos for advancedscientifictechniques. The researchassistants willuse organicandinorganicsynthetictechniques to make ligands and complexes.The students willcharacterizeligands and complexes usingtechniquessuch asNMR spectroscopy,IR spectroscopy, EPR,X-raycrystallography,andUV-visspectroscopy, for example.The studentswillalsosearchthe literature, write research reports,andcharacterizecomplexes.Proper laboratory safety training, documentation and presentationsarealso required.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

CalPolyPomonastudentwithbackgroundingeneralchemistry(CHM1210orequivalent).

ABOUT US: As the largest employer of students on the Cal Poly Pomona campus, the Enterprises offers valuable work experience and hands-on training to approximately 1,500 Cal Poly Pomona students each year.
