Greenville University

Full-time, Part-time

Job description

The Regional Recruiter is a vital member of GU's Admissions team, responsible for building and sustaining relationships with churches, community colleges, and Christian and non-Christian secondary schools throughout an assigned territory. This position serves as the University's primary point of contact for community partners and serves as the first impression for many prospective students and their families. The Regional Recruiter must possess excellent written and verbal communication skills and relate well to pastors, school counselors, community college staff, prospective students, and their families.
The Regional Recruiter will travel extensively within their assigned region to cultivate long-term partnerships with churches (of all denominations), community colleges, and both Christian and public/secular high schools. This includes representing the University at college nights, career fairs, youth group events, transfer fairs, and campus visits. These outreach efforts focus on increasing enrollment by building trust with gatekeepers in the community - pastors, guidance counselors, transfer advisors, and school administrators - and by attracting academically strong, mission-aligned students from diverse backgrounds. Due to the nature of this role, evening, weekend, and overnight travel will be required.
Greenville University is an unabashedly Christian, academically focused university of the arts, sciences, and professions, affiliated with the Free Methodist Church. The institution believes in the development and shaping of the whole individual - body, mind, and spirit - to empower students to live lives of character and service.
Requirements
  • Build and maintain a network of relationships with church leaders, youth pastors, and denominational contacts throughout the assigned region - regardless of denomination or faith tradition.
  • Establish and grow partnerships with community colleges to support transfer-student pipelines, including articulation agreements and on-campus recruiting visits.
  • Cultivate relationships with counselors and staff at both Christian and non-Christian/public high schools to become a trusted resource for college guidance.
  • Travel regularly throughout the assigned territory to represent the University at churches, schools, community colleges, and college fairs.
  • Plan and execute recruitment events and presentations tailored to each partner type (church youth groups, transfer fairs, school assemblies, etc.).
  • Represent the University professionally across social media (e.g., Instagram, podcasting) in a way that reflects positively on the institution.
  • Communicate consistently with prospective students and referral partners across all stages of the admissions funnel.
  • Track and report on relationship-building activity and its impact on enrollment using University CRM/admissions systems.
  • Assist in evaluating the effectiveness of regional partnerships and adjust strategy to meet enrollment goals.

Qualifications/Skills Required
  • An understanding and appreciation of Christian higher education, and the ability to build genuine rapport with partners across diverse faith backgrounds.
  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • Outstanding relationship-building and interpersonal skills - this role is fundamentally about earning trust with churches, schools, and colleges.
  • Strong public speaking and presentation skills for varied audiences (congregations, classrooms, fairs).
  • Self-motivated and comfortable managing a large, geographically dispersed network of contacts independently.
  • Willingness and ability to travel extensively, including evenings and weekends.
  • Creative, enthusiastic, and goal-oriented in a sales-driven recruitment environment.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and CRM/admissions software.
  • Comfortable and responsible in representing the University via social media.

Salary Band: $25-$35/hour. Individual rates within the range will be determined by factors including one's qualifications and performance, equity with others in the department, market rates for positions and department budget.
Applicants must be authorized to work for ANY employer in the U.S. We are unable to sponsor or take over sponsorship of an employment Visa at this time.
