Product Designer (PT Contract Position)

Murray, UT • On-site, Remote

Inside Real Estate
Real Estate • 1 - 10 employees

Part-time

Job description

About the Team
The Inside Real Estate Product Design team is a small, high-leverage team that operates at the intersection of product design, design systems, and AI-assisted workflows, using AI agents to scale our output as new surfaces come online. AI is a structural part of how we design and build, from day-to-day production to quality review.
The Role
We're looking for a Product Designer who can own end-to-end interface design for our core products. You'll do the hands-on work: interaction design, prototyping, component design, and quality oversight as features ship, while also helping shape and refine the design system that increasingly guides both human and AI-generated output.
This is a high-ownership role on a lean team, with real influence over the patterns, tools, and standards we establish from day one.
What You'll Do
  • Drive product design for the Inside Real Estate family of products: interface design, interaction patterns, prototyping, and design quality as features move from concept to ship.
  • Design within and extend the design system, using our component library as the source of truth, and helping evolve it as new patterns emerge.
  • Partner closely with PMs and engineers on standard feature work (briefed requests, clear scope, fast turnaround) and on larger zero-to-one initiatives (early, exploratory, iterative).
  • Review and refine AI-generated design output: our design generation agent produces first-pass, library-compliant mockups for BAU work; you'll review, refine, and approve before handoff.
  • Bring craft to AI-native product experiences, designing conversational UI patterns, trust-building details, and progressive disclosure that make AI feel like a knowledgeable advisor.
  • Participate in customer listening, sitting in on customer calls, running usability checks on prototypes, and feeding signals back into design decisions.
  • Help maintain design system documentation and flag component gaps as you encounter them.
What We're Looking For
  • 3-5+ years of product design experience, ideally in B2B SaaS or a fast-moving product org.
  • A strong portfolio showing end-to-end craft: interaction design, prototyping, and shipped, real-world work.
  • Comfort designing within (and contributing to) an established design system on a day-to-day basis.
  • Experience with modern design tooling (Figma or equivalent); openness to working alongside AI design agents as part of the workflow.
  • Ability to work with both tight, well-scoped briefs and ambiguous, early-stage problems, and to know which mode a given request calls for.
  • Strong prototyping skills: comfortable making ideas tangible quickly for reviews and user testing.
  • A collaborative, low-ego approach to working with PMs, engineers, and design leadership on a small team where everyone's working closely together.
Nice to Have
  • Experience designing conversational or AI-assisted interfaces.
  • Experience in real estate, proptech, or another vertical SaaS space.
  • Familiarity with design QA/audit workflows (reviewing shipped work against a design system).
