Job description

Rohadfox Construction Control Management is currently looking for a Cost Estimator with at least 10 years’ experience with Water and Wastewater Cost Estimating. Must have technical knowledge of water and wastewater systems with strong construction cost estimation skills and project management awareness.. This is a Remote Part-time opportunity requiring occasional visits to the work site(s) in Florida...perfect for a retiree!


Requirements Include

 

Core technical experience:

·        Water/wastewater project exposure: Familiarity with treatment plants, collection systems, stormwater infrastructure, and related civil works is essential 

·        Underground utilities: Experience with water, sewer, storm drain, conduit, and process piping projects is highly valued .

·        Mechanical systems: Ability to estimate costs for pumps, valves, process equipment, and related mechanical systems in treatment plants 

Construction and estimating skills

  • Pre-construction estimating: Ability to review plans, specifications, and drawings to determine scope, quantities, and costs 
  • Detailed take-offs: Proficiency in measuring quantities for labor, materials, equipment, and subcontractors 
  • Bid development: Experience preparing and submitting competitive bids, including RFQs and RFPs 
  • Risk assessment: Identifying cost and schedule risks for water/wastewater projects .

Project management overlap

  • Coordination: Liaising with engineers, contractors, vendors, and clients to ensure accurate estimates and project alignment .
  • Documentation: Managing contracts, RFIs, submittals, and change orders 
  • On-site support: Site visits to understand conditions and logistics for accurate cost modeling .

  

Education and tools

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in construction management, civil engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
