Part Time Remote Embedded Software information

What is a part time remote embedded software engineer?

Part time remote embedded software jobs involve developing, testing, and maintaining software that runs on embedded systems, such as microcontrollers or specialized hardware, while working fewer than full-time hours and from a remote location. Responsibilities typically include writing code in languages like C or C++, debugging embedded systems, and collaborating with team members online. These roles are popular among professionals seeking flexible work schedules or balancing other commitments. Companies may hire part time remote embedded software engineers for specific projects, ongoing maintenance, or to supplement in-house teams. Remote work requires strong communication skills and experience with collaborative development tools.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a part time remote embedded software engineer?

To thrive as a Part Time Remote Embedded Software Engineer, you need a solid understanding of embedded systems, C/C++ programming, and real-time operating systems, often backed by a degree in computer engineering or a related field. Familiarity with version control systems like Git, debugging tools, and microcontroller development kits is typically required. Excellent time management, problem-solving ability, and strong written communication are crucial for effective remote collaboration and project delivery. These skills ensure high-quality software development, efficient teamwork, and the ability to meet project goals independently in a remote environment.

How do part time remote embedded software engineers typically collaborate with hardware teams to ensure seamless integration?

Part-time remote embedded software engineers often use a mix of video conferencing, shared documentation platforms, and version control systems to closely collaborate with hardware teams. Regular check-ins and clear communication are crucial for aligning software development cycles with hardware prototyping and testing schedules. Despite the remote nature, being proactive in asking questions and sharing build updates helps prevent integration issues and ensures that software is optimized for the target hardware. Many teams also rely on simulation tools and remote access to test benches to facilitate hands-on collaboration even from a distance.

  • Expected Hours: ~20 hours per week (Flexible scheduling)
  • Location: Remote (Must reside in California or hold an active California PT/PTA license)
Benefits & Highlights
  • 100% Remote: Work from home with flexible scheduling.
  • Warm Inbound Leads: No cold calling-discovery calls are pre-booked directly onto your calendar.
  • Training & Autonomy: Comprehensive onboarding and call frameworks provided, with total freedom to bring your own authentic voice and style to every conversation.
  • Growth Potential: Expand your role as our boutique practice continues to grow.
Job Summary
Are you a licensed California Physical Therapist (PT) or Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) who excels at patient education, empathetic listening, and connection, but wants a break from heavy hands-on patient treatment?
Pelvic Path Physical Therapy™ is seeking an articulate, warm, and professional Remote PT or PTA to conduct virtual Discovery & Intake Calls for prospective patients. You will serve as the welcoming, trusted first point of contact-providing clinical education, addressing hesitations, explaining our care model, and guiding prospective patients to schedule their comprehensive 1-on-1 evaluation with our clinical team.
Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct Educational Discovery Calls: Host pre-scheduled, non-diagnostic virtual consultations with prospective patients to discuss how pelvic health physical therapy can help their concerns.
  • Authentic Patient Engagement: Utilize our core call frameworks as a foundation, while adapting language to fit your own conversational style and genuine clinical voice-no robotic sales scripts.
  • Patient Education & Triage: Provide accurate, high-level education regarding pelvic health care (pregnancy, postpartum, bowel/bladder, pelvic pain, post-surgical) while maintaining strict scope-of-practice boundaries.
  • Lead Engagement & Nurturing: Reconnect with past inquiries, cancellations, and warm leads via phone, email, and text to guide them toward care.
  • EMR & CRM Tracking: Accurately log call notes, patient concerns, and follow-ups in our EMR platform to ensure a seamless transition to the evaluating clinician.
Scope of Practice & Compliance Safeguards
  • This role is designed for patient education, practice navigation, and clinical triage.
  • No Diagnostic Evaluations: Staff in this role do not perform diagnostic evaluations, formulate plans of care, or provide individualized medical treatment during intake calls. All diagnostic evaluations are conducted in-person/1-on-1 by our evaluating Physical Therapists.
  • Supervision: PTAs operating in this role work under the direct oversight and direction of a licensed California Physical Therapist in full compliance with Physical Therapy Board of California guidelines.
Qualifications & Requirements
  • Licensure: Active, unrestricted California Physical Therapist (PT) or Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) License (Required).
  • Specialty Comfort: Comfortable discussing pelvic floor health (pregnancy/postpartum, bowel/bladder, pelvic pain, sexual wellness, post-prostatectomy) with warmth, empathy, and professional discretion.
  • Communication & Closing: Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to lead a caring, consultative conversation that helps hesitant callers commit to booking an evaluation.
  • Tech-Savvy: Proficient in navigating EMR systems, CRM tools, scheduling software, and Google Workspace.
  • Schedule: ~20 hours/week flexibility, with occasional evening availability based on patient booking trends.
