Job description

Canopie is a digital maternal health company supporting pregnant and postpartum individuals through structured, evidence-based support, education, and care navigation. We meet members where they are offering fully virtual access to coaching, classes, and clinical resources across the perinatal journey.

We are building a more inclusive and responsive model of care; one that recognizes the value of lived experience alongside clinical expertise.

What You'll Do
  • Provide ongoing virtual doula support across pregnancy and postpartum, grounded in emotional support, education, and preparation
  • Conduct onboarding and proactive outreach using structured workflows and communication tools
  • Deliver 1:1 sessions and contribute to group-based education (e.g., birth preparation, postpartum recovery, feeding, newborn care)
  • Educate members and families on the childbirth process, postpartum recovery, newborn care, and feeding options
  • Support members in developing birth preferences and preparing for labor and delivery
  • Share practical tools for comfort, including breathing techniques, relaxation strategies, and other coping methods
  • Help members navigate conversations with partners and healthcare providers to support informed, aligned decision-making
  • Build trust and understand individual needs through ongoing, relationship-based support
  • Encourage engagement with Canopie services and reinforce care plans aligned with coaching and clinical teams
  • Identify when additional clinical or lactation support may be beneficial and follow defined referral pathways
  • Document all interactions clearly and efficiently within Canopie’s platform
  • Communicate with members via phone, video, and secure messaging

Requirements

  • Fluent Spanish speaker (spoken and written)
  • Certified Doula (DONA or equivalent)
  • Experience supporting individuals through pregnancy, birth, and postpartum
  • Comfortable delivering virtual support and building rapport in a digital environment
  • Strong communication skills with a supportive, grounded presence
  • Ability to balance warmth with clear, practical guidance
  • Comfortable following structured workflows and engagement protocols
  • Strong digital literacy (telehealth platforms, documentation tools, messaging)
  • Reliable, organized, and responsive in a remote work setting

Preferred

  • Experience providing virtual doula care or telehealth support
  • 2–5+ years of doula or perinatal support experience
  • Experience working with Spanish-speaking or immigrant communities
  • Additional certifications (e.g., lactation support, childbirth education)

Schedule & Commitment

  • Part-time contractor role (approximately 20 hours/week; varies by program needs)
  • Availability during business hours required; evening and weekend availability is a plus

Benefits

  • Fully remote, digital-first care model
  • Ongoing clinical training, peer consultation, and supervision
  • Opportunity to help build equitable access to maternal health support at scale
