The Role:

We're looking for stylists who take their craft seriously. A successful Short Story stylist has a keen eye for style, figure flattering silhouettes, attention to detail, and great communication skills. You'll be helping clients with your creativity, knowledge, and thoughtfulness. You should be able to recommend outfits and recognize what works well together and what doesn't. You care about getting it right, not just getting it done. Our clients are at the core of everything we do, and that should be reflected in your work.

Day to Day:
  • Use our platform to style clients each week

  • Curate well-coordinated boxes of styles to perfectly fit our clients

  • Actively incorporate client feedback to improve recommendations

  • Communicate directly with clients and own the development of your relationships

  • Write thoughtful stylist notes to guide your clients through their petite style journey

  • Meet quality and efficiency metrics while managing your own schedule

Role Requirements:
  • Must reside in California, Nevada, Texas, Ohio, Florida, Georgia, North Carolina or South Carolina (see full location exclusions below)

  • Must be currently authorized to work in the US

  • At least 1 year of experience as a virtual stylist or other comparable online styling experience

  • Must be able to work 25-29 hours per week

  • A strong writer. Your stylist notes are clear, warm, and specific, not generic.

Hours & Scheduling
We offer two scheduling options to fit your lifestyle. We are looking for Stylists who can commit to one of the following:

  • Option 1: 20–25 hours per week

  • Option 2: 25–29 hours per week

    Please note: Weekly hours may occasionally flex within your chosen option’s range based on business needs.


Compensation & Details

  • Position Type: Part-time, fully remote

  • Pay Range: $15.00–$17.50/hour (depending on location)
