Job description

Job Summary:

The Administrative Assistant for the Legal Support Department performs day-to-day administrative, clerical, and operational tasks for the department director and managers; responds to daily communications; prepares departmental correspondence; and provides support in accordance with National Board for Certified Counselors, Inc. (NBCC) and Center for Credentialing & Education, Inc. (CCE) policies, procedures, and processes.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Provides day-to-day administrative support to departmental staff through a variety of tasks related to organization and communications.
  • Provides administrative support to the Exam Appeals Manager regarding the processing and review of examination appeals through a variety of tasks.
  • Communicates with examinees in accordance with established departmental procedures regarding the status of appeals and other written requests.
  • Communicates with the testing vendor to obtain examination administration and special accommodation records related to the appeal allegations submitted.
  • Performs research regarding examination challenges and appeals, as needed, including the review of organizational database records, based on appeals submitted through the organizational online appeals submission form.
  • Communicates with other internal organizational departments to obtain records and information.
  • Updates and maintains the examination appeals master docket with accurate and complete information based on research performed, as instructed by the Exam Appeals Manager.
  • Assists in the preparation of appeal decision drafts.
  • Other examination appeals-related duties as necessary.

Required Education/Experience:

  • Associate degree (minimum required)
  • Proficient with Microsoft Word, Outlook, Teams and Excel

  • Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines
  • Ability to work in a high-volume work environment
  • Ability to work remotely in a distraction free environment.

Preferred Education/Experience

  • Bachelors degree
  • At least 2 years of professional experience
