Part Time Registered Nurse Rn information

What is a part time registered nurse RN?

Part Time Registered Nurses (RNs) are licensed healthcare professionals who provide patient care, administer medications, and collaborate with doctors and other medical staff, but work fewer hours than full-time nurses. They may work in hospitals, clinics, nursing homes, or other medical settings, often covering shifts during evenings, weekends, or busy periods. Part-time roles offer flexibility, making them ideal for those balancing work with other responsibilities such as family or education. Despite working fewer hours, part-time RNs must meet the same licensing and educational requirements as their full-time counterparts.

How do part time registered nurses RN typically integrate with full-time staff and maintain continuity of care?

Part-time Registered Nurses (RNs) often work closely with full-time staff through thorough handoffs and regular communication to ensure seamless patient care. They participate in shift-change meetings and document comprehensively to keep colleagues informed of patient status and care plans. While they may face challenges in staying updated on frequent policy changes or new procedures, most healthcare facilities provide flexible training sessions and accessible resources to support part-time staff. Collaboration and adaptability are key, as part-time RNs contribute valuable support while maintaining high-quality standards alongside their full-time counterparts.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a part time registered nurse RN, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Part Time Registered Nurse RN, you need a current RN license, strong clinical assessment abilities, and a solid understanding of nursing best practices. Familiarity with electronic health records (EHRs), medication administration systems, and basic medical equipment is typically required. Excellent communication, time management, and adaptability are crucial soft skills for balancing patient care with a flexible schedule. These competencies ensure safe, effective care and seamless teamwork, even when working variable shifts or reduced hours.

As a Home Health RN, you will assess, coordinate, and manage patient care within senior living communities and select private residences. In partnership with Fellowship Square, Christian Care, our team is committed to delivering compassionate care aligned with a shared mission of serving seniors with dignity and excellence.

Approximately 90% of care is provided on senior living campuses, where you will work closely with an interdisciplinary team to develop and implement individualized care plans that meet each patientโ€™s unique needs.

  • Case Management: Develop and implement individualized care plans for patients, coordinating with physicians, family members, and other healthcare providers to ensure optimal care.

  • Patient Education: Provide education on health management, disease prevention, and improving quality of life for patients and their families.
  • Documentation: Maintain accurate and up-to-date records for all patient visits, including care plans, progress notes, and communication with the care team.
  • Advocacy: Act as an advocate for the patientโ€™s needs, ensuring that care is delivered in accordance with the patientโ€™s preferences and goals.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with physicians, therapists, and other care team members to ensure a coordinated approach to patient care.

  • Active Registered Nurse (RN) licensed in Arizona with current valid credentials.
  • Minimum two (2) yearsโ€™ Registered Nursing experience in Home Health required.
  • Must pass background check and meet all health and safety requirements.
  • Valid driverโ€™s license and reliable transportation required.
  • Strong assessment and critical thinking skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently, manage time effectively, and provide compassionate care to seniors.

Compensation information: Our RNs are compensated on a per-visit basis, with rates varying depending on the type of service provided. We offer seven distinct pay rates aligned with specific visit types, ensuring fair and competitive compensation for each service delivered. For more details about our pay structure, we encourage applicants to inquire during the interview process.

Benefits: (Certain benefits may be exclusive to full-time and part-time positions only):

  • Daily pay option available.
  • Medical, dental, and vision insurance options.
  • Paid time off and paid sick leave.
  • 403b company matched retirement plan.
  • Career Growth Opportunities.
  • The company provides a $15,000 life insurance payout, with the option to purchase additional coverage.
  • Employee assistance program and much more!

Why Join Us?

  • Flexibility: Work on an as-needed basis, offering flexibility to fit your schedule while making a meaningful impact.
  • Compensation: Competitive hourly rates with potential for additional hours based on patient needs.
  • Supportive Environment: Join a compassionate team where you are an essential part of improving the lives of seniors in their homes.
  • Meaningful Work: Directly influence the quality of life for seniors by addressing their emotional, social, and psychological needs during their recovery or ongoing care.
