Description
Isle of Wight County seeks individual to preform duties related to the operation of assigned Refuse & Recycling Center, and provides assistance to citizens in disposing of household refuse. Performs maintenance service of refuse & recycling centers.
Examples of Duties
Assists citizens at the Refuse & Recycling Center. Cleans centers; collects refuse placed on ground, sweeps area and picks up litter.
Monitors citizen compliance with regard to items being disposed before disposal. Performs light to medium maintenance duties. Performs
work safely in accordance with departmental procedures and reports unsafe work condition or problems to supervisor. Performs work in sometimes disagreeable conditions; requires ability to work weekends and holidays.
Physical Demands:
The work is medium work: Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 30 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects. Requires the use of fingers, balancing, climbing, crawling, crouching, grasping, hearing, kneeling, lifting, mental acuity, pushing, pulling, reaching, repetitive motion, speaking, standing, stooping, talking, visual acuity, and walking.
