St. Catherine of Siena Catholic Parish in Miami, Florida has an opening for an Part-time Receptionist for the Parish Office. This person will work at the reception desk and provide support for the parish as needed. The candidate performs all duties and responsibilities in alignment with the vision, mission, and values of the Archdiocese of Miami.
Schedule: 1:00 - 5:00 PM, Monday through Friday.
Responsibilities include:
  • Provide exemplary customer service to others by phone or in person, assist with their needs, and direct them to the appropriate department.
  • Embrace a warm and welcoming sense of hospitality and professionalism.
  • Perform clerical duties such as data input, preparing mailings, accepting, and distributing mail, reviewing voicemail, and answering messages.
  • Record and process mass intentions in the database.
  • Maintain church registration system; Update the database from information on registration cards, and in the parish management software system.
  • Prepare the Tamper-Proof Bags for the weekly collection. Maintain the inventory of bags and order as needed.
  • Create and maintain database of donor contributions and enter weekly data.
  • Maintain contact information with resources outside of the Parish (i.e., Catholic Charities for people seeking immediate direct services.) that can be helpful to those in need.
  • Develop knowledge of the Archdiocese of Miami's offices and services.
  • Presents a positive, professional, business-like image when representing St. Catherine of Siena Parish.
  • Respect the confidentiality of information acquired through the role within St. Catherine of Siena Parish.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
  • High School diploma or GED and one-year administrative experience in a customer-service environment with phone system.
  • Friendly, with excellent customer service skills, including ability to maintain focus on and professionalism with people in challenging situations, both in person and by phone.
  • Must demonstrate a positive, welcoming, and service oriented disposition.
  • Knowledgeable about and supportive of the mission and tenets of the Roman Catholic Church.
  • Good computer literacy skills, including Outlook & MS Word.
  • Strong oral and written English and Spanish language communication skills, including clear speaking voice.
  • Must be able to always maintain strict confidentiality.
  • Must have a professional demeanor, including the dress code.
