What is a part time real estate job?

A Part Time Real Estate job typically involves working as a real estate agent or assistant while maintaining a flexible schedule. Part-time agents help clients buy, sell, or rent properties but may handle fewer transactions than full-time agents. This role is ideal for those looking to earn extra income or transition into a full-time real estate career. Licensing requirements vary by state, so it's important to check local regulations. Success often depends on networking, market knowledge, and time management skills.

What does a typical work week look like for someone in a part time real estate position?

A typical week for a part-time real estate professional often includes a mix of client meetings, property showings, following up on leads, and handling paperwork for active transactions, usually scheduled around your availability and clients’ needs. The workload can fluctuate depending on the season and local market activity, making flexibility and organization essential. Part-time agents may work independently or as part of a brokerage team, attending team meetings or training sessions as needed. This structure allows you to build your real estate career while balancing other personal or professional commitments.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive in a part time real estate position, and why are they important?

To thrive in a Part Time Real Estate role, you need a solid understanding of property market trends, effective sales techniques, and a valid real estate license recognized in your state. Familiarity with real estate CRM software, multiple listing services (MLS), and digital marketing platforms is typically required. Exceptional interpersonal skills, time management, and proactive networking abilities help candidates stand out in this position. These skills are crucial for successfully attracting clients, managing transactions efficiently, and balancing flexible hours with meeting sales goals.

Is it worth it to be a part time real estate agent?

Part time real estate agents can earn commissions based on property sales, but income varies widely depending on market conditions, effort, and experience. It often requires flexible scheduling, strong networking skills, and relevant licensing, making it suitable for those balancing other commitments. However, it may limit earning potential compared to full-time agents and requires self-motivation and time management.

At Cohere, we believe community is the most valuable amenity.

We do more than manage communities-we help create places where people connect, belong, and thrive. By partnering with some of the nation's most innovative master-planned communities, we create places residents are proud to call home and where meaningful relationships flourish.

We're looking for an Ambassador to join our team at Terraine, a new home community in the West Bench featuring single-family homes, townhomes, trails, amenities, and thoughtfully designed spaces that encourage connection with both neighbors and the surrounding natural environment.

In this role, you'll help introduce prospective homebuyers and visitors to the Terraine lifestyle, share accurate information about the community and its amenities, and create a warm, welcoming experience at the sales center.

This is an opportunity to be part of a growing community from the beginning while helping visitors discover what makes Terraine a special place to call home.

If you're someone who enjoys connecting with people, providing exceptional service, and creating memorable experiences, we'd love to meet you.

Why People Choose Cohere

The best communities are built by people who feel supported, valued, and empowered to do their best work. That's why we foster a collaborative culture where team members have the opportunity to build meaningful relationships, make a visible impact, and contribute to thriving communities.

Highlights Include

  • Opportunity to build meaningful relationships with residents and stakeholders
  • Engaging, community-focused work environment
  • Professional development and growth opportunities
  • Collaborative team culture built on connection and purpose
  • The opportunity to make a visible impact in the community you serve

What You'll Do

Create a Welcoming Experience

  • Welcome sales center visitors and introduce them to Terraine's lifestyle, amenities, and community vision.
  • Provide accurate and up-to-date information about Terraine, its builder partners, available products, and ongoing community development.
  • Conduct community and amenity tours and connect prospective buyers with builder sales representatives when appropriate.
  • Provide a professional, welcoming, and customer-focused experience to prospective buyers, residents, partners, and other stakeholders.

Support Sales Center Operations

  • Maintain accurate prospect information using established CRM and registration systems.
  • Maintain traffic reports on a weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual basis.
  • Answer phones, route calls, receive deliveries, and assist with maintaining organized files, collateral, and supplies.
  • Stay informed about builder products, construction progress, amenities, regional news, and area development.

Support Events & Community Engagement

  • Assist with planning and execution of special events for prospective buyers, real estate representatives, residents, and other stakeholder groups.
  • Work collaboratively with the Terraine Community Life team to support events, programs, and other engagement experiences.
  • Assist with special marketing projects as assigned.

Keep the Sales Center Guest-Ready

  • Help maintain a clean, neat, and welcoming sales center throughout the day.
  • Tidy and reset furniture and wipe down tables and chairs as needed.
  • Help ensure restrooms and common areas remain clean and stocked.

What We're Looking For

  • Experience in customer service, hospitality, sales, or a similar customer-facing environment.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • A personable, professional approach and genuine ability to connect with people.
  • Collaborative mindset with the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to remain composed during challenging interactions.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and familiarity with database or CRM systems.
  • Flexible, adaptable, and comfortable working in a fast-moving community environment.
  • Knowledge of residential real estate or homebuilding is a plus, but is not required.

Additional Requirements

  • Availability to work a flexible part-time schedule based on community needs, primarily up to 29 hours per week.
  • Availability to work Monday-Saturday between 10:00 a.m.-6:00 p.m. and Sunday between 10:00 a.m.-3:00 p.m., based on the assigned schedule and community needs.
  • Comfortable working both indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions.
  • Ability to remain on your feet for extended periods and frequently lift at least 30 pounds.
  • Ability to maintain CPR, First Aid, and AED certifications.
