Part Time Real Estate Apprentice information

What is a part time real estate apprentice?

A Part Time Real Estate Apprentice is an entry-level individual who works under the supervision of a licensed real estate professional to gain practical experience in the real estate industry. This role typically involves assisting with property showings, administrative tasks, and learning about real estate transactions while working fewer hours than a full-time apprentice. The position is ideal for those who are studying for their real estate license or exploring real estate as a potential career path. Apprenticeships provide valuable hands-on training and networking opportunities without the commitment of full-time employment.

What are the typical responsibilities of a part time real estate apprentice?

As a Part Time Real Estate Apprentice, you'll often assist licensed agents with tasks such as conducting property research, preparing marketing materials, scheduling showings, and maintaining client communications. You may also shadow agents during client meetings or open houses to gain hands-on experience. This support helps agents manage their workload while giving you valuable exposure to the day-to-day operations of real estate. Balancing these responsibilities with your learning objectives can be a challenge, but it provides a solid foundation for advancing in the industry.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a part time real estate apprentice?

To thrive as a Part Time Real Estate Apprentice, you need a basic understanding of property markets, strong organizational skills, and at least a high school diploma or equivalent. Familiarity with real estate software (such as MLS systems), CRM tools, and local licensing requirements is often expected. Outstanding communication, a willingness to learn, and strong interpersonal skills help you build relationships with clients and colleagues. These skills and qualities are crucial for supporting licensed agents, learning industry practices, and providing excellent client service.

Job description

Business Development & Referral Partnerships Representative (Part-Time)

Caring Transitions is seeking a relationship-driven professional to support our growing presence across East Jacksonville, St. Augustine, and Palm Coast. We help seniors and families navigate life transitions with compassion—specializing in downsizing, relocation, space planning, home cleanouts, and estate sales.

This flexible part-time role focuses on building trusted referral partnerships and representing Caring Transitions within the community. Availability is needed between 9:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m. Monday through Friday for consultations, community visits, and marketing activities. We’re flexible on which days you work—you can select a schedule that fits your life (such as M/W/F), as long as you’re available during our core hours on those days.

This position is ideal for retired educators, stay-at-home parents, or real estate professionals, for example, looking to stay engaged, build relationships, and earn supplemental income while making a meaningful impact. As business grows, additional hours or a full-time opportunity may become available for those interested.

Key Responsibilities

Referral Relationship Development

  • Build and maintain partnerships with senior living communities, real estate professionals, and estate service providers.

  • Serve as a trusted, consistent point of contact.

Community Outreach

  • Maintain visibility through community visits and networking events.

  • Share educational resources and support informational sessions.

Prospecting & Lead Qualification

  • Conduct thoughtful outreach by phone, email, and in person.

  • Qualify referral relationships and coordinate next steps.

Client Support & Space Planning

  • Guide clients in visualizing how their belongings will fit into smaller homes or condos.

  • Provide practical space planning and downsizing support.

  • Ensure smooth handoffs for deeper consultations.

Reporting & CRM

  • Track outreach and referral activity.

  • Share insights on trends and opportunities.

Qualifications & Requirements
  • Experience in relationship-based sales, business development, community outreach, real estate, or similar fields

  • Space planning, staging, interior layout, or downsizing experience strongly preferred

  • Strong communication and organizational skills

  • Comfortable working independently across a broad territory

  • Empathetic and professional when working with seniors and families

  • Basic CRM and spreadsheet proficiency

  • Reliable transportation for local travel
