Job description

Mercy Community Healthcare has an opening for a part-time Nursing Technician in Franklin, TN. We are looking for enthusiastic people with a passion for making a difference in the lives of those we serve in our community.

We provide care to the uninsured, underinsured and insured through pediatric and adult primary care, mental and behavioral health services, and care coordination.

What Will You be Doing?

  • Document in the Electronic Medical Record while following established and standardized protocols.
  • Participate in emergency care of patients including applying oxygen, retrieving and setting up AED, and participating in BLS.
  • Acquire patient vital signs including heart rate, respiratory rate, blood pressure, pulse oximetry, weight, height, and temperature.
  • Work at the direction of the providers and teammates to accomplish patient care tasks and maintain workflow.
  • Determine necessary paperwork for appointments and proactively provide assistance to patients completing paperwork.
  • Actively participating in care center protocols including HIPAA, universal blood, and body fluid precautions, etc.
  • High School degree or equivalent
  • 2 years of medical assistant experience preferred.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification or ability to obtain with 90 days of employment.
  • Outstanding communication skills.
  • Ability to use and document in our Electronic Medical Record.
  • Demonstrate excellent interpersonal and clinical skills, and the ability to work with a wide variety of people.
  • Practice safety, environmental, and/or infection control methods.
  • Work with the nursing team to achieve quality improvement by proactively looking for ways to improve patient flow, quality of care, safety, and health.
