Job description

The Morganton News Herald/Marion McDowell is seeking a Part-Time Distribution Warehouse Worker (30-35hrs/wk.) to assist in the distribution of newspapers to customers and independent contract haulers. Responsibilities will include ensuring single copy amount is correct to each hauler, delivering "down" routes, and collecting single copy racks. This position will be responsible to meet the delivery trucks and ensure timely delivery to post offices and single copy locations. This position will provide general assistance in the operation of the distribution center and maintain an orderly flow on the dock. Evening work is required and possibly some weekends. Receives mileage reimbursement when using your vehicle for work purposes.
Qualifications:
• Shift starts 4:00pm-10:00pm (Monday; Wednesday and Friday unless a change in delivery day) and 11:00am- 5:00pm (Tuesday and Thursday unless a changed in delivery day/times).
• Ability to unload and stack bundles of newspapers (approx. 30 lbs)
• Ability to move around the warehouse, both inside and outside
• Ability to follow company safety guidelines and policies
• Ability to work weekends and holidays
Requirements:
• No previous experience required, training available
• Reliable vehicle and proof of auto insurance
• Valid driver's license and good driving record
