Job description

Job Summary:
On a part-time basis, this Quality Inspector will provide a supporting role to the Quality Department, ensuring all returned products are sorted, dispositioned, and processed, incoming products are barcode labeled, and both the full-time Quality Inspectors and Quality Manager are assisted as needed. Those with minimal experience in a Quality setting can be trained. Those with extensive experience can assist more readily with inspection and measurement of products as needed.
Duties and Responsibilities:

Primary Duties & Responsibilities
50%
Receive, sort, and process returned products, communicating with internal departments to assist in proper disposition. Create Discrepant Material Reports (DMR's) when supplier recourse is necessary. Log information into appropriate databases.
20%
Rework, scrap, or create DMR's for products that are found defective or damaged in the Warehouse and Assembly Department.
10%
Apply barcode labels to all incoming products that come in without identification.
10%
Assist the Quality Manager with investigation of field issues, including measurement and sorting of products from the Warehouse.

Assist the full-time Quality Inspectors with measurement and documentation of incoming products.
Minimum Position Qualifications:
Education Level:
High School Diploma or GED required. Some college or technical training preferred.
Experience:
  • 2+ years in a manufacturing environment, preferably in a Quality role.
  • Effective communication skills, in-person and via telephone and email.
  • Good computer skills, with the ability to learn, utilize, and understand all internal maintenance systems including Lotus Notes, BASIS, and Microsoft Suite.
  • Ability to read and accurately interpret drawings and technical specifications.
  • Experience with calipers, micrometers, and other gauges preferred.
  • Have excellent attendance and be self-motivated.
  • Exhibit attention to detail and take pride and ownership in your work.
  • Well organized, flexible to change, and understanding of the needs of the business.
  • Ability to stand and/or sit for extended periods of time in a shop environment.
  • Ability to occasionally lift or move up to 70 lbs.
