Pay Rate Starting at: Level $16.00/ hr Rates of pay are determined by previous experience and labor contract seniority. 

SUMMARY

The mission of all Tops associates is to adhere to the Tops vision of providing a friendly neighborhood store that saves the customer time and money.  Bakery clerk must possess reasonable knowledge in storing, preparing, and maintaining bakery products. Clerk is responsible for slicing, pricing, and packaging product, as well as maintaining shelves, cases, and displays. Clerks are also responsible for setting an example in providing attentive and courteous customer service

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Follow all Federal, State, and Local regulations as well as company policies regarding Bakery operations, safety, and sanitation
  • Maintain proper shelf/display conditions through cleaning, straightening, and rotating products
  • Adhere to company policy through proper processing, preparation, and packaging of product
  • Take customer orders accurately for cakes or other specialty items as needed
  • Complete all necessary paperwork relating to Bakery Department
  • Maintain a Clean as you go policy
  • Maintain adequate supplies
  • Minimize shrink through proper handling and storing of product
  • Minors may work in a sales capacity, packaging and limited production
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Must be at least 16 years of age and 18 years of age to perform certain functions/tasks

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
  • Ability to read, write, and perform basic math functions
  • Possess basic computer skills
  • Possess strong communication skills
