Job description

JOB SUMMARY: The Guest Services Sports Complex position is responsible for performing a variety of duties including the management of daily office functions at Nelson Sports Complex, as well as maintaining outstanding communication with patrons and team members. This is an at-will position. Primary duties include:

  • Provide customer service in the Sports Complex office via in-person, telephone and email.

  • Responsible for learning and utilizing the registration software system (Civic Rec).

  • Issue Freestyle Punch cards, Public Skate Passes, Pool Passes and Fitness Center passes.

  • Process class lists and attendance rosters for all building programming.

  • Process refunds for all building programming.

  • Track the purchase and usage of freestyle ice, skater count on ice data, and billing of IC instructors monthly fees.

  • Assist with the planning and coordination of the annual Ice Show registration and ticket sales.

  • Maintain paperwork on registration, refunds, daily/weekly bank outs and office cash management

  • Deliver bank deposits to bank as directed.

  • Complete all necessary forms as needed

  • Aid in making telephone calls for program changes, cancellations or closings, wait list openings or proofing reading.

QUALIFICATIONS: Graduate from high school with at least two (2) years of front-line guest services experience required. The position requires strong people and customer service skills, and the ability to communicate effectively with team members and the public. Computer and keyboard skills required. This position requires the ability to multitask as well as good math skills and the ability to follow through on detailed work. Must be able to work occasional evenings and weekends based on program schedules.                                                                                                                                                                                        

SCHEDULE & HOURS: This is a part-time position working approximately 10-19 hours per week. The anticipated schedule is:

  • Wednesday: 10:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m. 

  • Friday: 3:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m.

  • Saturday: Three (3) Saturdays a month, 9:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m.

The schedule outlined above reflects the typical working hours; however, hours may vary slightly based on program needs, special events, facility operations, and seasonal demands. Flexibility to work additional hours, evenings, or weekends as needed is preferred.

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS: The hiring range for this position is $17.00–$19.00 per hour, depending on qualifications. This position includes district benefits such as a complimentary facility membership and discounts on park district programs.
