Fitzgerald High School College & Career Academy - Instructional Coach (PART TIME - HOURLY)
REPORTS TO: Principal
JOB GOAL: To help teachers translate curriculum and instruction goals and objectives into meaningful learning experiences for each individual student.
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Meets with teachers to interpret and help implement the district's curriculum.
  2. Assists teachers in organizing classrooms for effective learning.
  3. Assists in the construction and evaluation of classroom testing instruments.
  4. Administers diagnostic tests to students and determines intervention strategies.
  5. Analyzes assessment data to make instructional decisions.
  6. Serves as a consultant in the selection of appropriate instructional supplies, equipment, media, and texts.
  7. Performs classroom observations and provides specific feedback to teachers for professional growth.
  8. Assists in establishing and maintaining effective professional learning communities.
  9. Assists in the planning, conducting, and implementation of professional learning experiences for staff to increase student achievement.
  10. Recommends ways in which the curriculum and instruction can be adjusted to meet the individual needs and learning styles of students.
  11. Participates in proposed and ongoing curriculum development projects.
  12. Serves at the request of principals as advisor/ mentor/ consultant to individually identified teachers.
  13. Models research-based effective teaching and classroom management strategies.
  14. Assists with technology integration/troubleshoots technology needs.
  15. Helps plan and carry out staff and parent curriculum meetings.
  16. Advises in the grade placement and grouping of students.
  17. Remains aware of recent developments in professional literature and research.
  18. Performs other tasks and assumes such other responsibilities as may be assigned by the superintendent.

Qualifications: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required.
Education: 1. A minimum of a bachelor's degree in Education.
2. A strong background in effective implementation of intervention strategies including Response to Intervention
Knowledge: 1. Possess in depth understanding of intervention services and Instructional Coach principles and processes
2. Must possess excellent assessment, data analysis, case management, crisis intervention, interpersonal, and communication skills
3. Must possess the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with students, parents, staff, and outside agencies
4. Must possess the following skill-based competencies to satisfactorily perform the function of the position: analyzing; effective listening; facilitating meetings; guiding others; instructional techniques; managing projects/programs; monitoring activities; planning; problem solving; and supervision.
