Job description

Optometrist - Full-time/Part-time - Private Practice - Tallahassee, FL

New graduates and experienced optometrists are encouraged to apply!

Our office is a highly-rated practice located within a well-established retail setting in Tallahassee, FL. We are looking for a Full-Time or Part-Time Optometrist to join the practice! This is a great opportunity for an OD who values flexibility, work-life balance, and the ability to shape their practice around their professional interests.

Our practice has built an excellent reputation in the community and provides a friendly, relaxed environment for both patients and doctors. We pride ourselves on providing excellent customer service and a great patient experience while giving our doctors the freedom to practice optometry in the way that best fits their interests.

What Youโ€™ll Need:

Doctor of Optometry (O.D.) Degree
Valid FL state license to practice optometry

Our ideal candidate is an OD who is friendly, personable, efficient, and committed to providing excellent patient care and customer service.

This is a general optometry position, and we welcome doctors who want to practice full-scope optometry, myopia control, specialty contact lenses, including scleral lenses, or develop other areas of clinical interest.

New graduates are welcome to apply!

Why Work Here?

Exposure: You will see a general patient population with a good mix of patients and clinical needs. Doctors typically see approximately 3 patients per hour, allowing enough time to provide quality patient care while maintaining a comfortable pace.

The practice has a very relaxed atmosphere and gives the doctor significant flexibility to make the position what they want it to be. Whether you are interested in comprehensive eye exams, full-scope optometry, myopia control, scleral lenses, or other areas of optometry, you will have the freedom to develop your clinical interests.

You will also have a full technician supporting you, allowing you to focus on what you do best โ€” taking care of your patients.

Environment: Our OD will work independently with support from technicians and front desk personnel. The practice is designed to provide a friendly, personable, and team-oriented environment while allowing the doctor significant autonomy in their day-to-day practice.

The office is equipped with modern technology, including:

Optos
Automated exam lane
EMR

An OCT can also be added to the practice based on the doctor's clinical interests and needs.

Schedule: We value flexibility and work-life balance. Both Full-Time and Part-Time opportunities are available.

Full-Time: Monday-Friday, 10 AM to 6:30 PM
Part-Time: Minimum of 2 days per week, with flexible days
Saturday: Optional and not required, 10 AM to 4 PM

Compensation & Benefits:

We offer competitive compensation commensurate with experience.

Full-Time W-2 or 1099 options available and competitive salary based on experience.
Part-time compensation is negotiable.

Benefits for eligible W-2 employees include:

401(k) with 3.5% match
Medical insurance
Dental insurance
PTO
Sign-on bonus
Tuition assistance
Licensing fees
Malpractice insurance

Why Youโ€™ll Love Our Location:

Tallahassee is a great place to live and work, offering the benefits of Florida's capital city along with a welcoming community and plenty of opportunities to enjoy the Florida lifestyle.

The office is situated within a well-established retail environment, providing a convenient and accessible setting for patients while allowing the practice to benefit from the activity and visibility of the surrounding location.

The practice is also highly rated in the area and has built a strong reputation for excellent patient care and customer service.

If you are ready to take the next step in your career and are looking for a flexible opportunity where you can enjoy excellent work-life balance while practicing optometry your way, apply today through Eyes On Eyecareยฎ!
