Network Engineer
The Opportunity:
A well-designed network is critical to enable the Air Force to achieve their missions, but how can an organization make sure their network will fit their evolving needs? Crafting the right network with the right equipment and software requires a combination of technical skill and careful planning. That's why we need you, an experienced Network Engineer who knows how to develop the exact network the Air Force's needs.
As a dedicated Network Engineer on our team, you'll support critical national security network infrastructure. The idea candidate will assist in the configuration, maintenance, and ensure compliance with DoD Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs). You will work alongside senior engineers to ensure high availability, security, and performance of classified networks, directly supporting mission-critical operations.
You will upgrade and expand network-wide infrastructure, troubleshoot and resolve complex network issues, analyze current working infrastructure, and increase security, reliability, and availability for mission-critical network systems. Your knowledge will come in handy as you optimize client operations and support modernization. As a Network Engineer, you will serve as a trusted advisor to clients on mission-critical projects. Using your technical curiosity and knowledge of industry standards, you'll make an impact on national security missions.

You Have:
  • 2+ years of experience in network administration or network engineering within a DoD or highly regulated environment, including leveraging monitoring, network diagnostic, and network analytics tools and configuring and installing network devices and services such as routers, switches, and firewalls
  • Experience with system integration and collaborating with systems administration to ensure seamless integration across Windows and Linux using virtual applications, including VMware vSphere environments
  • Experience with COMSEC management, including assisting with handling, configuring, and maintenance of cryptographic devices such as KG series and secure communications equipment
  • Experience creating and updating detailed network topology diagrams, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and configuration records
  • Knowledge of TCP/IP, OSI Model, routing protocols such as OSPF or BGP, and switching technologies
  • Active TS/SCI clearance; willingness to take a polygraph exam
  • HS diploma or GED
  • DoD 8570 IAT Level II Certification such as CompTIA Security+ CE Certification

Nice If You Have:
  • Experience with Active Directory and basic server administration, including Windows Server or RHEL
  • TS/SCI clearance with a polygraph
  • Bachelor's degree in CS, IT, or Engineering
  • Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) or Juniper Networks Certified Internet Associate (JNCIA) Certification

Clearance:
Applicants selected will be subject to a security investigation and may need to meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information; TS/SCI clearance is required.

Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual's particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $61,900.00 to $141,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen's total compensation package for employees.
