What is a part time pricing analyst?

Part time pricing analysts are professionals who work reduced hours to help businesses determine effective pricing strategies for their products or services. They analyze market trends, competitor pricing, and sales data to recommend optimal price points. Their work supports maximizing revenue and profitability while ensuring competitiveness in the market. These analysts typically use statistical tools and software to interpret data and present findings to management, and their part-time schedules offer flexibility for both employers and employees.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a part time pricing analyst?

To thrive as a Part Time Pricing Analyst, you need strong analytical abilities, proficiency in mathematics or statistics, and typically a bachelor's degree in finance, economics, or a related field. Familiarity with data analysis tools such as Excel, SQL, and pricing software is usually required. Attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and effective communication help you interpret market data and present insights clearly. These skills are essential for making informed pricing decisions that maximize profitability and support business objectives.

Utilizing strong organizational skills and leveraging data analysis tools can help streamline workflows, enabling part-time analysts to contribute meaningfully despite reduced hours. Regular check-ins with the team also help in staying updated and addressing any shifting priorities promptly.

Job description

Part-Time Restaurant Cost Analyst

Arka Restaurant Group
Location: Hybrid – Coconut Creek, FL
Compensation: $26.00–$29.00 per hour
Employment Type: Part-Time
Schedule: Hybrid – 2 days per week in our Coconut Creek office, with flexibility for remaining work hours

About the Role

Arka Restaurant Group is seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Part-Time Restaurant Cost Analyst to support the financial and operational performance of our five restaurant locations.

This hybrid position is ideal for someone with a background in Accounting, Finance, Business, Hospitality Management, Cost Control, or Restaurant Operations who enjoys working with numbers, investigating discrepancies, and turning financial data into actionable insights.

The Restaurant Cost Analyst will work closely with our culinary and operations leadership to analyze inventory, food costs, waste, recipes, purchasing, and financial results. This role will also assist with monthly Profit & Loss reporting and help ensure our inventory, costing, and reporting systems remain accurate and up to date.

This is not simply a data-entry position. We are looking for someone who can look at a number, recognize when something does not make sense, and dig into the details to determine why.

Key ResponsibilitiesInventory & Cost Control
  • Monitor and analyze inventory results across five restaurant locations.
  • Review inventory counts, product usage, food costs, waste, and variances.
  • Identify discrepancies and investigate the causes behind inventory variances.
  • Analyze food and product costs to identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Partner with culinary and operations leadership on purchasing, portioning, recipes, waste control, and overall cost management.
  • Establish and maintain accurate ingredient and product costs.
  • Track waste and identify trends or areas requiring operational attention.
  • Assist with improving inventory and cost-control processes across all locations.
Inventory & Restaurant Systems
  • Help build, maintain, and improve inventory management systems.
  • Maintain accurate ingredient lists, recipes, yields, and costs.
  • Ensure recipes and POS items are properly connected and accurately costed.
  • Update pricing and cost information as ingredient costs change.
  • Support accurate reporting between restaurant operational and financial systems.
P&L & Financial Analysis
  • Assist with the preparation and finalization of monthly P&Ls for five restaurant locations.
  • Review P&L reports for accuracy and identify unusual variances or discrepancies.
  • Analyze sales, food costs, labor, expenses, and other key financial metrics.
  • Review Excel formulas, calculations, and reports for accuracy.
  • Maintain financial spreadsheets and recurring analytical reports.
  • Compare actual results against expected or budgeted performance.
  • Identify opportunities to improve profitability at each location.
  • Communicate findings and recommendations clearly to management.
Reporting & Analysis
  • Prepare and maintain recurring inventory and cost-control reports.
  • Identify trends across restaurant locations.
  • Provide leadership with clear and actionable observations.
  • Assist with developing improved reporting systems and processes as the organization grows.
  • Support special financial and operational analysis projects as needed.
 Qualifications
  • Degree completed or in progress in Accounting, Finance, Business, Hospitality Management, or a related field required.
  • Strong analytical and mathematical skills.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel proficiency required.
  • Experience reviewing or working with Profit & Loss statements.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to identify discrepancies.
  • Comfortable working with large amounts of numerical and financial data.
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently, manage priorities, and follow projects through completion.
  • Ability to communicate findings effectively to operational leadership.
  • Fluency in both English and Spanish required.
  • Restaurant, hospitality, inventory, accounting, cost-control, or financial-analysis experience strongly preferred.
Who We’re Looking For

You are naturally curious and enjoy asking: “Why doesn’t this number match?” More importantly, you are willing to keep digging until you find the answer.

The right candidate is analytical, organized, proactive, and comfortable moving between spreadsheets and restaurant operations. You understand that numbers tell a story and enjoy figuring out what operational factors are driving financial results.

You will have the opportunity to work directly with restaurant leadership, analyze real business performance, and help implement changes that can directly improve profitability.

What You’ll Gain

This position provides hands-on exposure to:

  • Multi-location restaurant financial analysis
  • Inventory and food-cost management
  • P&L analysis
  • Cost accounting
  • Excel-based financial reporting
  • Recipe and menu costing
  • POS and inventory systems
  • Waste and variance analysis
  • Restaurant operations and profitability
