  • Assist with the care of patients in a solo-private family medicine office
  • Rooming patients: obtain vital signs, reconcile medication list, assist with form completion, have patient change as needed, time efficiency to ensure proper flow of office session
  • Medication refill: confirm dosage/route of administration/frequency, assist with refill preparation, assist with prior authorizations
  • Routine point-of-care testing: urine dip, urine pregnancy, Rapid strep, etc.
  • Outpatient office procedures: EKG, dressing changes, immunizations, intramuscular injections, allergy injections, phlebotomy
  • Set up for minor office procedures including lesion excisions, joint injections, etc; sterilize surgical equipment in autoclave
  • Accurate submission of patient samples to lab
  • Assist with triaging patient calls and coordination of same-day appointments
  • Maintain vaccine supply: both private supply and Vaccine For Children (VFC) supply, monitor refrigerator/freezer temperature/logs
  • Maintain exam rooms: keep supplies stocked, remove expired items, turn over/clean exam rooms after each patient visit
  • Patient communication: relay messages between patient and physician regarding questions related to care, refills, etc., utilize the EMR for documentation of all patient care
  • Maintain knowledge of medications commonly used in scope of family medicine practice
  • Experience with EMRs
  • Type 40 WPM minimum
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel
  • Proficiency with utilizing online websites for ordering medical supplies, etc.
  • High level of professionalism including maintaining strict patient confidentiality
  • Superb accuracy, precision and integrity
  • Active LPN license required
  • Active CPR/BLS certification
