What is a part time plumbing sales professional?

Part time plumbing sales jobs involve selling plumbing products, services, or solutions to customers, but on a part-time schedule rather than full time. Employees in this role typically assist customers, provide product recommendations, process orders, and sometimes offer technical advice about plumbing needs. These positions are common in plumbing supply stores, hardware stores, or plumbing service companies. They require good communication skills, basic knowledge of plumbing products, and the ability to work flexible hours. Part time roles are ideal for those seeking supplemental income or a flexible work-life balance.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a part time plumbing sales professional?

To excel in Part Time Plumbing Sales, you need a strong understanding of plumbing products, sales techniques, and basic customer service skills, often supported by prior retail or plumbing experience. Familiarity with point-of-sale (POS) systems, inventory management software, and product catalogs is typically required. Exceptional communication, active listening, and problem-solving abilities help build rapport with customers and address their needs effectively. These skills are vital for driving sales, ensuring customer satisfaction, and maintaining a positive store reputation.

How do part time plumbing sales professionals typically balance customer outreach with administrative tasks?

Part-time plumbing sales professionals often split their time between engaging with potential customers—such as responding to inquiries, providing quotes, and following up on leads—and handling essential administrative duties, like updating CRM systems and processing sales paperwork. Efficient time management is key, as these roles usually require prioritizing high-impact interactions during limited work hours. Many employers provide digital tools to streamline communication and record-keeping, making it easier to stay organized and responsive. Collaboration with plumbing technicians and the scheduling team is also common to ensure accurate service delivery and customer satisfaction.

Are you a licensed Journeyman Plumber in St. Louis City or County who’s ready to pass on what you’ve learned?

At Tony LaMartina Plumbing Company, plumbing is in our blood. Our family has been serving St. Louis for four generations — and we’re committed to keeping the trade strong by training the next generation of skilled plumbers.

We’ve built a hands-on training lab and skill development program to help our plumbers grow their technical abilities and confidence. Now we’re looking for an experienced Journeyman Plumber who wants to give back — teaching, mentoring, and inspiring the next wave of professionals.

What You’ll Do
  • Work directly with our team of Ranken graduates in our state-of-the-art training lab

  • Demonstrate proper technique, craftsmanship, and trade best practices

  • Coach apprentices and journeymen as they refine their plumbing skills

  • Use our structured skills assessment program to track progress

  • Share your professional wisdom, stories, and lessons learned along the way

What We’re Looking For
  • Active Journeyman License in St. Louis City or County (required)

  • 10+ years of plumbing experience preferred

  • A teacher’s heart — patient, encouraging, and passionate about doing it right

  • Strong communication skills and pride in your craft

Why You’ll Love This Role
  • Flexible, part-time schedule — perfect for semi-retired plumbers or those easing out of full-time field work

  • $50/hour with meaningful, rewarding work

  • No service calls, no sales, no paperwork — just teaching the trade you love

  • Be part of a family-owned company with a proud history and deep roots in St. Louis
