JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
The Department of Plant Science seeks to hire a dependable and self-motivated person who is interested in the role of soil fertility and nutrient management in cropping systems. The research will focus on nutrient cycling in cropping systems, soil health, cover crops, and water quality.
Job Duties
  • The successful candidate will work with faculty, staff and graduate students to learn field and laboratory techniques for quantifying soil nitrogen, phosphorous, sulfur, and plant sampling techniques in cover and cash crops.

Requirements and Qualifications
  • The opening will require work in outdoor settings, such as corn and soybean fields, along with laboratory tasks.
  • Employment with the University for this job will require the operation of a motor vehicle as a part of the job duties. A valid US driver's license and successful completion of a motor vehicle records check will be required in addition to standard background checks.
  • Work will require the ability to work in an outdoor environment in adverse weather conditions including extreme heat and cold.
