Location: Remote in Maine
Schedule: 10:00 PM - 3:00 AM shifts

Available Schedules

We are currently hiring for two consistent overnight roles:

  • Schedule A: Thursday through Sunday (10 PM - 3 AM)
  • Schedule B: Friday through Monday (10 PM - 3 AM)
About the Role

The Crisis Support Specialist provides immediate, compassionate support to individuals experiencing emotional distress or crisis through the Maine Crisis Line. This role focuses on building connection, ensuring safety, and helping individuals navigate toward stability and resources.

What You'll Do
  • Provide real-time crisis intervention via phone, chat, and messaging platforms
  • Build rapport by creating a safe, non-judgmental space for help seekers
  • Conduct safety assessments and evaluate risk levels
  • De-escalate crisis situations and develop stabilization plans
  • Connect individuals with community resources and referrals
  • Collaborate with supervisors and community partners to support care
  • Complete accurate and timely documentation for all interactions
  • Participate in training, supervision, and continuous learning
What We're Looking For

Required:

  • Associate's degree in psychology, social services, education, or a related field
  • Ability to obtain MHRT-CSP certification within 30 days of hire (training provided)
  • Strong communication and active listening skills
  • Ability to remain calm and effective in high-stress situations
  • Comfort using technology while engaging in live conversations

Preferred:

  • Experience in behavioral health, crisis work, call centers, or human services
  • Familiarity with crisis intervention practices and DSM concepts
