Job description

Responsibilities

The Perioperative RN is responsible for managing the care of the pediatric and adult patient requiring a surgical procedure.ย  The Perioperative RN is a professional nurse who is directly or indirectly responsible for delivering total nursing care to the perioperative patient during various phases of the perioperative stay. The Perioperative RN participates in the clinical assessment, planning for care, implantation of appropriate nursing techniques and evaluation of nursing interventions.

Qualifications

MINIMUM EDUCATION

Graduate of an accredited Nursing program.

MINIMUM WORK EXPERIENCE

Minimum of 1 year previous Perioperative RN experience preferred.

REQUIRED SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, AND ABILITIES

Current licensure in Texas as a Registered Nurse. Certified in Basic Life Support through the American Heart Association. ACLS within 6 months of employment. PALS/ENPC preferred.
