Job description

Trustbridge Hospice, a member of Empath Health, is seeking a caring and motivated Pediatric RN to provide exceptional care to terminally ill children on a per diem basis.
Since 1978, Trustbridge Hospice has been honored to serve families across Palm Beach and Broward counties with compassionate, community-based care. Formed from the legacy of Hospice by the Sea and Hospice of Palm Beach County, we continue to provide comfort, dignity, and peace to those facing advanced illness.
What you'll Do
  • Under physician's orders, the Pediatric RN is responsible for identifying and coordinating patient/family needs and for providing preventative and supportive care to terminally ill children with a variety of health issues and their families.
  • Will utilize assessment, intervention, and teaching skills to maximize patient comfort and to enhance the quality of life for the pediatric patient/family unit.

  • Will provide ongoing assessments of physical, psychological, social, and spiritual needs of the pediatric patient/family/PCG and initiates appropriate intervention, Plan of Care, or referral.
  • Will administer medications and treatments as prescribed by the attending/hospice physician.
  • Will participate in providing education to IDG members regarding the care of pediatric patients and families.
  • Regularly reviews and updates the Plan of Care (POC) for pediatric patients.
  • Performs other duties as requested by the Pediatric Services Manager.

What You'll Need
  • Registered Nurse currently licensed in the State of Florida.
  • BSN preferred
  • Hospice certification preferred
  • Current Basic Life Support Certification from the American Red Cross or American Heart Association
  • PALS preferred.
  • Three (3) years nursing experience, with at least one (1) year acute care setting preferred
  • Minimum of 2 years of pediatric experience with experience with high tech care preferred
  • Experience caring for children with life threatening illnesses preferred
  • Basic computer skills and EMR software experience a plus.
  • Adequate and reliable means of transportation with adequate insurance and valid Florida driver's license.
