Part-Time Float TMS Technician (Medical Technician/Patient Advocate)
Location: Onsite - Seattle, Bellevue, Everett and Bellingham Clinic
Employment Type: Part-Time, W-2 Employee, Non-Exempt
Hourly Rate: $23-25/hr; paid bi-weekly
Schedule/Hours: Monday-Friday; 20-30 hours per week
Reports To: Lead Technician, Clinic Coordinator and Clinic Manager
The TMS Technician serves as clinical support staff responsible for assisting in the delivery of Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS) therapy in accordance with NeuroStim TMS Centers' established protocols, policies, and applicable federal and state regulations. Under the supervision of the Medical Director or designated Medical Provider, the TMS Technician greets and prepares patients and administers TMS treatments strictly as prescribed. The Technician does not independently diagnose, prescribe, alter treatment parameters, or make clinical decisions outside approved protocols.
The Technician maintains a safe treatment environment, adheres to safety and infection control standards, documents treatment sessions accurately in the medical record, and promptly reports adverse events or patient concerns to the supervising provider. The TMS Technician reports operationally to the Lead Technician and administratively to the TMS Coordinator and Clinic Manager, while remaining clinically accountable to the supervising Medical Director or Medical Provider.
TMS Technician Responsibilities

  • Hold Certification in BLS, HIPAA and MagVenture
  • Reports and assists patient grievances with managers
  • Deals with patient Care Emergencies according to Protocol
  • Treats patients according to prescription of supervising Medical Provider
  • Maintains appropriate documentation
  • Maintains HIPAA Compliance at all times
  • Maintains professional appearance and demeanor
  • Interacts appropriately with patients in the clinic
  • Provide excellent patient care and best practices in a safe and therapeutic environment
  • Provides support, reflective listening, and compassion to patients with mood disorders
  • Set up TMS medical device and monitor all aspects of the treatment for patient comfort and treatment accuracy
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues regarding patient comfort, coil contact, and TMS system setup throughout treatment
  • Administer PHQ9/GAD7 to patients as directed by supervising provider(s)
  • Maintain a knowledge of TMS in order to answer patient questions
  • Communicate with TMS Psychiatric provider about patient progress or concerns in an efficient and timely manner
  • Successfully and accurately complete charting after each patient
  • Recognizes, troubleshoots and documents all equipment problems or concerns and reports them to Clinic Manager in a when appropriate
  • Reports all concerns to supervisors regarding employees, patients, or operations
  • Maintains all infection control practices according to NeuroStim's Policies
  • Assist with clinic cleaning
  • Ensures TMS treatment room is always appropriately cleaned and sanitized

Requirements
TMS Technician Qualifications
  • Preferred Education: BS in Psychology, Neuroscience, or related field.
  • 2+ years in healthcare, patient care, or medical office support (CNA, MA, Patient Care Tech, etc.).
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office; EHR experience a plus.
  • Comfortable working with medical/mechanical devices.
  • Patient-centered, compassionate team player who is professional, punctual, and proactive
  • Detail-oriented and tech-savvy with a strong desire to learn, grow, and adapt
  • Strong organizational and communication skills with the ability to manage details effectively
  • Preferred: BLS certification.
