Job Description and Responsibilities

This is a part-time, on-site role as a Speech-Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA) serving a school located in Austin, Texas.

The Speech-Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA) will be responsible for providing therapy services to students, conducting screeners, monitoring progress, and collaborating with interdisciplinary teams (therapists, educators, parents). The role requires strong communication and interpersonal skills, as well as a passion for working with students with special needs. 

Job Details

  • Part-time, on-site school-based opportunity with a 10-20-hour work week
  • 2026-2027 school year (August 2026 through May 2027)
  • Serve students in Kindergarten through 12th grade
  • Provide speech-language services under the supervision of a licensed Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP)
  • Provide individual and group speech-language therapy as directed by the supervising SLP
  • Assist with treatment planning, progress monitoring, documentation, and implementation of student IEP goals
  • Collaborate with SLPs, teachers, school staff, and families to support student communication and academic success
  • Paid hours include direct therapy, documentation, planning, meetings, and other assigned professional responsibilities
  • Ongoing mentorship and collaboration from both the partnering school district and the TheraPeds Partners team
  • Manageable caseload designed to support quality services and positive student outcomes
  • Competitive compensation of $35-$45+ per hour, with estimated weekly earnings of $525-$675+, depending on hours worked

Requirements

Qualifications

  • Valid SLPA Certification from an ASHA approved institution
  • State License as Speech-Language Pathologist Assistant, where required
  • Department of Education Licensure as a SLPA, where required
  • Experience working with children
  • Experience in a school setting preferred, but not required
  • Organizational and time management skills
  • Proficient in use of technology

  • Ability to collaborate with school staff and parents with a demonstrated ability to exercise a high level of tact and discretion in both internal and external communications

Physical Requirements

Working and playing with students requires that employees must be able to perform the necessary physical movement functions, as needed, such as lifting, sitting, walking, standing, crawling, and engaging with students in all physical locations and activities, while adhering to the duties outlined by the district.
