Paraprofessional (Part Time)
Johnsburg School District 12

REPORTS TO:

Under the daily supervision of the Building Principal, Assistant Principal and/or Director of Student Services

CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT:

Educational Year:  On school days when students are present

  • 4-5 Hrs. per day
  • 2 Personal Days         
  • 11 Sick Days
  • Participation in the IMRF pension plan

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Paraprofessional License
  • Strong interpersonal communication skills
  • Respect confidentiality
  • Must be able to use tact and diplomacy in human relations

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Assist with instruction and helping of individual student with special needs, or in small groups, as needed
  • Assist and support teachers to organize learning experiences for student(s)
  • Supervision of students during lunch, hallway and bathroom time
  • Under teacher direction and guidance, assist in assessing student needs and progress
  • Attend meetings as scheduled
  • Attend offerings for professional growth
  • Adhere to the district's expectations with regards to attendance and punctuality
  • Promote a positive relationship with students, staff and community
  • Help maintain an attractive and inviting classroom environment
  • Perform any task or responsibilities which may be directed by the Teacher, Building Principal, or Student Services Director
