Job description


In the heart of The Dalles, Oregon, Adventist Health Columbia Gorge has served the Columbia River Gorge community since 1901. We are comprised of a 49-bed hospital, various medical offices, home health, a birthing center and a vast scope of services located throughout The Dalles and the surrounding areas. The Dalles is known for its picturesque views of the Columbia River, local charm and delicious downtown restaurants and bakeries. There is something for everyone in this scenic community.
Job Summary:
Maintains an acceptable level of cleanliness and an improved aesthetic environment for the Surgical department. Performs a variety of general cleaning tasks. Performs daily and terminal cleaning of operating rooms.
Job Requirements:
Education and Work Experience:
  • High School Education/GED or equivalent: Preferred
  • Associate's/Technical Degree or equivalent combination of education/related experience: Preferred
  • Environmental services experience: Preferred

Essential Functions:
  • Performs routine cleaning of operating rooms, nursing units, departments, lobbies, lounges, restrooms corridors, elevators, and stairways.
  • Assists Operating Room team with case cart, equipment, and supply needs. Distributes, collects and processes linens. Assists with additional duties such as cryo-machine, autoclave room, ordering food.
  • Assists with transport and moving patients. Gets inpatient beds, changes beds and gurneys as needed.
  • Sets up rooms based on procedure and surgeon preference with proper equipment, beds and positioning adjuncts.
  • Performs terminal cleaning of surgical suites daily; hallways, sterile processing, sterile core, sub-sterile rooms, anesthesia work room, ancillary rooms and other areas weekly.
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
