TITLE: Anticipated Part-Time Painters
QUALIFICATIONS:
1. Must be allergic free to paint and associated chemicals used in the painting process.
2. Ability to read, write and effectively communicate.
3. Ability to work safely and adhere to all safety regulations.
4. Required criminal history background check and proof of citizenship or legal resident alien status.
5. Must have ability to distinguish the difference of color shades.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
1. Required to stand, sit, walk, use hands and fingers to handle or feel objects, tools, or controls and be able to talk or hear.
2. Required to continuously use hand strength to grasp tools more than the average person while performing the duties of this job.
3. Required to frequently bend, reach forward, squat and twist at the neck and trunk more than the average person while performing the duties of this job.
4. Required to frequently move or lift up to 75 pounds repeatedly.
5. Required to push/pull items such as furniture, ladders, and scaffolds.
6. Must be able to go up and down steps repeatedly without restrictions as well as climb ladders.
7. Required to work indoors or outdoors.
REPORTS TO: Facilities Manager
JOB GOAL: To provide a clean and safe environment throughout the entire buildings and grounds.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Must be able to do all associated preparation work to include sanding and stripping of old paint and taping off of times needed to be protected from fresh paint.
2. Must use drop cloth on a surface needed to be protected from paint spill, or drip, whenever the possibility exists.
3. Responsible for the proper cleanup of paint cans, brushes, etc. including the proper sealing of lids.
4. Responsible for the safe and proper storage of paints, lacquer, thinners, and all associated painting equipment and tools.
5. Responsible for notifying all persons where painting will be done.
6. Responsible to wear all and any safety garments or equipment if needed.
7. Responsible for maintaining proper inventory of brushes, rollers, pans, and necessary supplies used in everyday job operation.
8. Must take care not to paint over electrical covers, conduit, door frames, metal supports, etc. without checking with supervisor in advance.
9. Must have knowledge of difference in paints such as latex and oil base.
10. Required to frequently move or lift up to 75 lbs. repeatedly.
11. Must practice good safety habits at all times with high regard to human safety.
12. Required to work in other classifications when instructed to by supervisor of buildings and grounds.
13. Performs all work related duties as assigned by supervisor of buildings and grounds within the scope of the job.
14. Shovels, salts, sweeps, and takes necessary steps to remove snow during storms to insure students and staff of safe passage to and from building entrances and driveways.
15. Any and all tasks as designated by the Superintendent.
Term of Employment: Yearly contract as determined by the Board of Education
