Overview and Qualifications
In the role of a PACU Registered Nurse, you will be essential in providing immediate post-operative care for surgical patients. Your duties will encompass managing airway support, closely observing neurological and cardiac conditions, and swiftly addressing any complications or adverse effects. You will also administer initial wound care at the surgical site and ensure patient stability throughout the recovery process. Collaboration with the surgical and anesthesia teams will be a key aspect of your role. This position may require on-call availability during specific non-business hours, which will be discussed during the interview process.

Your Responsibilities in This Role:
- Provide high-quality, patient-focused care while implementing evidence-based practices and continuous improvement strategies
- Act as a vital member of a dynamic interdisciplinary team, including providers, therapists, and others
- Consistently utilize the nursing process, critical thinking, scientific judgment, technical skills, and leadership to deliver safe nursing care independently
- Evaluate patient conditions, monitor throughout your shift, and meticulously document any changes along with the care provided
- Educate patients and their families/caregivers about the patient's medical condition, treatment options, and follow-up care
Required Qualifications:
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support certification must be obtained within 30 days of starting employment
- Basic Cardiac Life Support certification must be obtained within 30 days of starting employment
- PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) certification must be obtained within 30 days of starting employment
- Registered Nurse (RN) license
- Associate Degree in Nursing
- A minimum of 1 year of Critical Care experience is REQUIRED! This includes ICU, ER, or PACU experience
