Part-time Travel Sedation Nurse
3 days/wk - 24 hours
Must be able to travel throught Georgia (Atlanta, Dalton, Savannah, Augusta, Columbus, Macon, Forest Park, Decatur) Mileage reimbursement available.

We are actively seeking a Dental Assistant to join our growing team! Sedation Recovery Nurse is integral to post-operative care and must demonstrate advanced knowledge of anesthesiology. They monitor post-operation vital signs, assess levels of consciousness, and carefully observe patients for any side effects from sedation.
Responsibilities
  • Utilize critical care skills to assess body temperature and track other indicators of stability or complications.
  • Administer diligent care via monitoring, assessment, intervention, and continuous reassessment.
  • Assess patients' condition after a surgery has been performed
  • Measure, record patients' vital signs and ensure that all vitals are within normal range
  • Monitor patients for condition changes and report any changes to the doctor
  • Initiate patient education programs to ensure that both patients and families are educated on procedures and medications
  • Update charts, patient files, and records
  • Determine when patients are ready to be released
  • Collaborate with the dental team on post-operative patient care
  • Perform intervention duties in cases of post-operative emergencies
  • Performs to the highest integrity by adhering to all government regulations, company standards, and company compliance programs
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications
  • Associate Degree or Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing (BSN)
  • Registered Nurse (RN) certification
  • Must have an RN license
  • Minimum 1 year
  • Required or Specialized Skills:
    • Valid BLS (Basic Life Support) from the American Heart Association
    • A valid professional license within the state of practice
    • A Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) credential from the American Heart Association is recommended and may be required for specific registered nurses and travel nurse positions
    • Experience as a Post-Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) nurse in a hospital setting
  • Preferred Skills:
    • Recovery work with pediatric patients (preferred)
    • Other specialty-related certifications are preferred and may be required for specific positions
      • ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) or PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) preferred

Physical Requirements:
The nature of work requires the ability to:
  • Effectively communicate and exchange information with patients, their parents, clinicians, and staff
  • Operate a computer, keyboard, and standard office equipment
  • Lift/carry up to 30 lbs and be able to twist, turn, bend, and stoop

The majority of work performed is in a clinical environment which may require availability for extended hours during peak periods. Work hours may change to meet business needs.
